Restoring Blood Flow, Renewing Life
Creating new vascular pathways through targeted cell therapy and biomaterial engineering.
Provasctec’s Mission is to Advance the use of Cell Therapies in Regenerative Medicines to Positively Impact Patients’ Lives
As a team of cell biologists, bioengineers, and medical doctors, we enable the delivery of cells to sites of medical need. We focus on mesenchymal stem cells, a cell type with an established safety profile and therapeutic potential across a wide range of diseases.
Provasctec is Unlocking the Therapeutic Potential of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Through Precision Delivery
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are one of the body’s natural tools for tissue repair and regeneration. They detect and respond to injury, reduce inflammation, modulate the immune response, and secrete growth factors to stimulate repair. MSCs are found in many tissues, such as bone marrow and adipose tissue (fat), making them readily available for large-scale production. They exhibit low immunogenicity, allowing their use in allogenic settings and enabling off-the-shelf products. MSCs have demonstrated a strong safety profile when used in the treatment of a wide range of medical conditions, both critical and benign.
This combination of safety, scalability, and versatility makes MSCs highly suited for therapeutic use.
Technology
Provasctec has Developed a Proprietary Device for Targeted Delivery of Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Past attempts to broadly apply cell therapies have mostly failed to deliver. Key obstacles have been the absence of scalable allogeneic cell sources, effective cell delivery, payload size, and rapid cell death upon delivery.
Our solution intends to overcome historic barriers to cell survival and targeting by combining cells with a biodegradable device that can be delivered to any site in the body. Disease specific design adaptations enable applications across a number of indications, including inflammation, cancer, and other age related diseases.
Through polymer chemistry and structural design we have created a delivery platform which allows any number of cells to be grown outside the body, while tailored preservation protocols support the delivery of a high payload of viable and functional cells to the site of clinical need.
