The role and underlying mechanism of stem cells in neovascularization is well documented. One of the key shortcomings to fully exploit the clinical benefits of the cells has been an insufficient concentration at the site of occlusion. ProVascTec has developed a proprietary local delivery device that allows for a high cell payload to be delivered in close proximity to the site of intervention. Our solution is expected to significantly improve the treatment outcomes of critical limb ischemia, specifically in areas below the knee by going around rather than through the occlusion. By recruiting the vasa vasorum, our solution will not only increase arterial blood flow, but also increase perfusion of the surrounding micro tissue.
